About the Garden
The Garden of Ancestral Knowledge at the Faculty of Education (FE) is a space dedicated to the appreciation and dialogue between academic knowledge and the traditional knowledge of different peoples. Inspired by cultural diversity, the garden is a meeting place for students, teachers, researchers and the external community, promoting educational practices that transcend the classroom.

History and Purpose
Opened in April 2024, the Jardim dos Saberes Ancestrais was born from the need to rescue and give visibility to indigenous, African, quilombola and other traditions that make up the Brazilian cultural mosaic. The space is an invitation to reflect on alternative forms of teaching and learning, incorporating elements of nature as a fundamental part of this process.
The project was carried out by the Faculty of Education in partnership with the Directorate of Culture (DCult) of the Pro-Rectory of Extension, Sports and Culture (PROEEC) of Unicamp, with funding from the Cultural Activities Award.

Garden Elements
The space is composed of a variety of elements that represent different ancestral traditions and practices, including:

- Trunks with paintings of different indigenous peoples, Afro-diasporic communities, African peoples and other peoples created by Unicamp students belonging to these communities/peoples,
- Benches and common areas for educational and cultural activities.
