Structure and Research Lines
From 2013 onwards, with the restructuring of the PPGE into 9 lines of research, these became the organizing axes of the Master's and Doctorate courses at PPGE/Unicamp, with specific disciplines being offered for each line and general disciplines on the theoretical, epistemological and methodological foundation of research related to the educational field that permeate the themes and approaches of the lines of research:
- Line 1: WORK AND EDUCATION
Studies and research that analyze the relationship between work and education, using as theoretical framework the human and social sciences such as sociology, anthropology, political science, history, economics, social and work psychology. The main objects of study are the relationships between work and education in their multiple dimensions: public policies related to work and education; the social and international division of labor; the labor market and its dynamics; the organization, management and working conditions, as well as the characteristics of employment; moral harassment and bullying; subjectivity, identity and health of workers; training actions that take place in school and non-school spaces; professions and occupations; social movements, work and education; workers; class, gender, ethnicity and generation relations.

- Line 2: EDUCATION AND SOCIAL SCIENCES
This line of research addresses education from different theoretical and methodological perspectives of the social sciences. The training of researchers and educators in this line of research takes place through interdisciplinary dialogues in different fields and research themes.

- Line 3: EDUCATION AND CULTURAL HISTORY
This line of research develops work from the theoretical and methodological perspective of cultural history and problematizes different objects and themes in the educational field in two dimensions: (1) the school institution with its rhythms, times and spaces, its knowledge and its practices; (2) education as a cultural process that involves the insertion of individuals and groups in different spheres of public life, focusing on investigations in the fields of health, gender and sexuality, different bodily manifestations and representations, the arts, among others. It also deals with the investigation of education as a manifestation of powers and counter-powers of different institutions and social groups.

- Line 4: EDUCATION IN SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS AND TECHNOLOGIES
It includes studies and research related to: the field of Education in Science, Mathematics and Technologies understood as cultural practices from historical, philosophical and sociopolitical perspectives; the different approaches to language in this field; professional, curricular and pedagogical practice development in this field.

- Line 5: STATE, PUBLIC POLICIES AND EDUCATION
It includes local, national and international studies and research on the analysis of public education policies (formulation, implementation and educational evaluation), educational administration and educational systems, with an emphasis on the relations between State and Society, planning, evaluation, legislation, financing, management of Basic Education and comparative education in its different stages (early childhood education, elementary education and secondary education) and Higher Education, teaching modalities (youth and adult education and professional education), as well as cultural networks and their forms of organization between civil society and political society.

- Line 6: PHILOSOPHY AND HISTORY OF EDUCATION
It includes studies and research on education, carried out from a historical and philosophical point of view. Preserving the relative autonomy of each of these fields of knowledge, in their plurality, the aim is to articulate knowledge and discussion of education, both in its historical context and in light of its ethical, political and/or epistemological assumptions.

- Line 7 – TEACHER TRAINING, CURRICULUM, TEACHING WORK AND EVALUATION
This line of research builds its themes based on educational actions and their implications in relation to teacher training, educational policies, the production of interdisciplinary knowledge and expertise, practices of memories, stories and narratives, as well as teaching work and professionalization, in contexts of basic education, higher education and non-formal education, from the perspective of education for all.

- Line 8: LANGUAGE AND ART IN EDUCATION
It includes studies and research on the connections and/or relationships between Language and Art in different educational contexts, understanding them in their methodological and thematic dimensions. It addresses the multiple aspects through which they are thought and materialized both in practices – such as reading, writing, literature, visual and physical arts, and cinema – and in the senses and perceptions of plurality and interpenetration of languages in contemporary times, assuming Art and Language as powers that produce difference in Education.

- Line 9: PSYCHOLOGY AND EDUCATION
It includes studies on psychological processes involved in educational, social and cultural phenomena with a view to development and learning.
