Communication
Dear,
We inform you that, dDue to the closure of the elevator in the Professor Paulo Freire Building, the Salão Nobre is temporarily unavailable for reservations.
The currently installed elevator does not meet the technical accessibility requirements, according to a report issued by CEMEQ, which recommends its use only for transporting cargo. This fact has caused difficulties and embarrassment for event participants, especially for people with reduced mobility, disabilities or other specific needs, who are unable to access the upper floors of the Professor Paulo Freire Building and, consequently, the Main Hall.
As it is located on the 1st Floor of the Building, the Main Hall is inaccessible to all those who need the elevator to access it, contrary to current legislation, such as Brazilian Law for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (Law No. 13.146, of July 6, 2015), Decree No. 5.296, of December 2, 2004, Municipal Law No. 14.493, of November 13, 2012 and Brazilian Standard ABNT NBR 9050. This situation exposes the institution to the risk of legal proceedings and possible compensation due to lack of compliance.
The Office of the Rector, as well as the Pro-Rector of Extension, Sports and Culture (PROEC) have already been notified of the situation.
Therefore, until the problem is resolved, we advise event organizers (teachers, staff and students) to follow the instructions below:
Before registering the event with the Extension, Events and Special Projects Secretariat, check the possibilities for allocating spaces.
-
Events with up to 30 participants: will preferably be allocated in room ED-08/LAE, located on the ground floor of Annex Building I, or in cases of hybrid events in videoconferencing room 1, located on the ground floor of the Professor Paulo Freire building, subject to availability.
-
Events with up to 60 participants: please contact the Office of Extension, Events and Special Projects (by email eventfe@unicamp.br) to check room availability at FE.
-
Events with more than 60 participants: the organizing committee must look for auditoriums outside the FE, according to the options listed in the attached spreadsheet or other alternatives suggested by the committee itself.
Other guidelines:
-
Avoid scheduling events on Thursdays, due to low room availability at FE.
-
Avoid holding events in a hybrid format while this situation persists.
-
Prioritize holding events in an online/virtual format, without the need for an in-person audience, when possible.
EaD technical support for online and in-person events:
The EaD team will provide in-person technical support for in-person or hybrid events held on FE premises. However, for events organized outside FE, the EaD team will not be able to provide in-person assistance. In these cases, support will be provided remotely, with the creation and management of the Google Meet room, recording, editing and publishing of videos.
Therefore, if the event is held in an external auditorium, the organizing committee must check whether the location offers adequate infrastructure and technical support for recording, transmission, among other needs.
If you have any questions, we are at your disposal.
Best Regards,
Direction/FE
