Synopsis
The e-book emerges from a Deleuzian provocation: “cinema is the art of thought” (DELEUZE, 1990). For the French philosopher, such art has the potential to lead us to encounter a problem and to make a cut in the chaos that allows us to find ethical-aesthetic-political solutions to that which disturbs us. Driven by the desire to experience what cinema can reveal, or even what cinema can do in its intersection with education and philosophy, the Transversal Group (a subgroup of the Phala Research Group) dedicated two semesters of studies and debates, between 2017 and 2018, around the two most hermetic and emblematic works of Gilles Deleuze: Cinema I – The moving image (1983) and Cinema II – The time-image (1985). The studies were permeated by movements that sometimes ranged from careful and critical reading of books to interchangeable analyses of scenes from films cited by the author himself. Sometimes they were modulated in the interlocution of contemporary films with more strict questions from the educational field and the production of images. To conclude this vectorial cycle of studies and research – which does not intend to close itself off to the production of meanings, but which opens like a catapult to a thousand doors of experimental possibilities – this work, entitled “Claquetes: cinema, Deleuze and education”, is presented after a long debate and problematizations, the result of a work of philosophical thought that was constructed collectively and inventively in the face of what cinema can and allows us.
