FAPESP updates rules for Grants and Scholarships

Update includes rules for requesting Scholarships as a Budget Item for Aid and documents for submitting proposals

FAPESP has updated, effective March 1, 2025, the rules for the following Research Grants and Scholarships:

·Research Assistance - Regular

·Research Assistance – Thematic Project

·Research Grant – Public Education Program

·Assistance for Participation in Scientific Meetings

·Grants Awarded as Budget Item in Grants

·Postdoctoral Fellowship

·Research Grant Abroad

·Research Internship Abroad Scholarship

In the Grants and Scholarships rules, the main changes involve the reduction of documents required for submitting proposals, updates to the guidelines for preparing research projects and guidelines for submitting Scientific Reports.

The guidelines for preparing the Curriculum Summary FAPESP model, in Portuguese and English versions, which are available respectively at fapesp.br/sumula e fapesp.br/6351.

Also noteworthy is the new rule for requesting Grants Awarded as a Budget Item (BCO) in Aid, published in fapesp.br/bco. The new page brings together all the guidelines for requesting and monitoring BCOs, which were previously published on different pages of the Foundation's website.

With the new rules, FAPESP will now allow academic BCOs, intended for Scientific Initiation, Master's, Direct Doctorate, Doctorate and Post-Doctorate scholarship holders, to exceed the validity of the Research Grant in which they were granted as a budget item, observing the other requirements for application defined in the rules.
