Launch of the extension course “Training of environmental promoters in public administration”
Training for public servants in Monte Alto, the course “Training of environmental promoters in public administration”, was officially presented on the afternoon of Thursday, July 27, in a ceremony at the Municipal Cinema-Theater.
Created by the Secretariat of Agriculture and Environment, it aims to debate advances in the 2030 agenda of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), created by the United Nations (UN).
There are 17 objectives listed by the organization, which address the main challenges faced by the populations of Brazil and the world, including combating poverty and hunger, encouraging environmental protection, access to health and education for all, basic sanitation and drinking water, among other topics.
“Investing in employees is vital for any public management,” commented Dr. Carlos Ricardo Serrano, director of oversight at the Court of Auditors of the State of São Paulo.
The Unicamp School of Education will be responsible for teaching the course, which will take place free of charge from October 2023 to March 2024, with a workload of 60 hours. The meetings will take place every two weeks at the employees' own workplaces.
In turn, Dr. Carlos Miguel da Silva Ribeiro, extension coordinator at the Faculty, highlighted the pioneering spirit of the Montealtense government in promoting the course.
Finally, Mayor Maria Helena Rettondini thanked Unicamp for its partnership, reinforced her commitment to investing in public servants and the importance of the well-being of the relationship between the environment and humanity.

Fábio Gabriel Nascibem (Municipal Secretary of Agriculture and Environment) and Prof. Dr. Carlos Miguel da Silva Ribeiro (Extension Coordinator of the Faculty of Education of Unicamp). Also present, representing the course work team, were the following professors: Prof. Dr. Alessandra Aparecida Viveiro (Course Coordinator and Professor of the Faculty of Education of Unicamp), Prof. Dr. Maria Cristina de Senzi Zancul (by videoconference), Prof. Dr. Alexandre Ferrari, Prof. Dr. Laís Goyos Pieroni, Prof. Dr. Pedro Neves da Rocha (by videoconference), Prof. Rosa Helena Borghi, Prof. Me. Rosimari Ruy (by videoconference).
