Data management

Unicamp Data Repository (REDU)

Introduction

O REDUCED is the University's official tool for the deposit, preservation, sharing, reuse and reproducibility of all generated research data.

As recommended by Open Science, data produced by projects supported by FAPESP must be deposited in institutionally maintained repositories. In these repositories, the data must be maintained and preserved according to the quality standards of each knowledge domain and in such a way that they can be publicly accessed, while respecting the ethical, legal and security restrictions defined by the project and the traditions of the associated knowledge domains.

Access and registration

When accessing REDU for the first time, researchers must complete a quick registration process in order to use the system. The registration is then validated by the Central Library team, which may take up to a few days to release the information. Only then will researchers be able to use the repository and enter their research data. Therefore, we recommend that researchers register in advance.

Use

The SBU provides a REDU user guide, as well as providing assistance via email. redu@unicamp.br.

Guide – Unicamp Data Repository (REDU/SBU)

In addition to the guide referenced above, it is recommended that you access the REDU Frequently Asked Questions page, maintained by PRP, which provides more information and answers common questions about the repository and its use.

Data Management Plan

Introduction

The Data Management Plan (DMP) is a document that responds to two points:

  1. What data will be collected/generated and how it will be stored; and
  2. How this data will be preserved and made available for reuse, taking into account ethical, legal, confidential aspects, among others.¹

DMPTool Tool

To facilitate the creation of the PGD, the tool is available DMPTool, where you can use some available form templates.

Access

To access the online tool, click on the link https://dmptool.org/ and use your SiSe (Unicamp) credentials.

Models

Some templates with predefined fields are available on the platform. Unicamp currently has 2 templates registered on the platform to assist in your creation. FAPESP also has a template available on the tool.
It is important to observe the characteristics and indications in each notice or agency to create an adequate plan.

To use the generic model of Unicamp, when accessing the page https://fapesp.br/gestaodedadosto create the plan, enter the Research Organization as “State University of Campinas (unicamp.br)" and mark the Funding Body as “No funder associated with this plan or my funder is not listed” and select the model “UNICAMP-GENERIC” in the list.
For more information on how to use it, access the SBU manual via the link below:
